Some journeys shape more than results. They shape how you think and how you work with people.
I have lived in six countries, with the ocean as a constant reference point. Offshore and ocean racing taught me lessons that only become clear when conditions are unpredictable and teams rely completely on each other.
In 2003 my team won our class in the Transatlantic yacht race Cape to Rio, finishing second overall in 20 days. Three years later we returned with a yacht I had built myself, won the race overall in 16 days and broke the course record for yachts under 40ft.
Racing eventually led me to building.
FROM A SMALL SHED TO A PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT BUILT ON CONSISTENCY AND TEAMWORK.
What started as a small workshop to prove the concept was never a straight path. It was a journey shaped by setbacks, uncertainty, financial pressure and moments of real doubt.
Early mistakes, constant experimentation and the need to keep moving forward built a team that learned to communicate, adapt and solve problems together.
Over time, the startup evolved into a structured production environment built on consistency, teamwork and shared commitment. Success came through persistence, not ease.
What began as an ambitious idea became an internationally recognised yacht brand.
More than 650 yachts were built and launched worldwide. Most remain active today, continuing to sail, race and win across multiple continents. Their longevity reflects the quality of their design, construction and purpose.
The company received international recognition including the Best Boat Award (USA), design awards, and industry honours for logistics and supply chain excellence.
What started with developing and building yachts gradually grew into something larger than the yachts themselves.
SHIFTING TO SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION.
Working closely with materials and production over many years raised a question that would not go away. How do we build things that perform without leaving damage behind?
That question led to DANU™, a patented circular composite technology now applied across marine, renewable energy, mobility and advanced protection industries.
The goal: to create materials and technologies that perform under pressure, endure over time and support a transition toward more responsible and circular industries.
That full arc, from reading conditions offshore to building organisations under pressure to asking harder questions about what we leave behind, is what I bring to the founders and teams I work with through Transat.
